Aimee B Clothing Brings Europe to Fort Langley

While visiting bustling cities is one way to travel, small towns offer an effortless vibe and charm that can’t be paralleled. They’re places with a beating heart, where a helping hand is given and where tradition is the lifeblood.

These characteristics evoke the best of what a historic picturesque village is as a culture. From breathtaking landscapes to the great food, adorable B&B accommodations and the laid-back, unpretentious people, it’s an environment that embodies the word community.

But with the up rise of sophisticated restaurants and lovely wineries busting all over, calling Fort Langley a place where time has stood still isn’t fair. Yet, this is an area where simple pleasures — like sipping coffee on the sidewalk bench — seem more deeply appreciated.

So it’s no surprise that a decade later, a one-of-a-kind boutique has evolved into a true shopping destination, pointing its success to their community and their customers.

While the ever-changing landscape of fashion continues to thrive on large department stores and mass-produced clothing, Aimee B Clothing and Accessories is providing an unmatched shopping experience for every woman.

Dedicated to covetable, contemporary and European brands such as Part Two, Maison Scotch and Frame Denim, the shop offers an unmistakable shot of luxury, with personalized service that you won’t find anywhere else in the Fraser Valley.

"Everything we carry is hand picked and carefully curated with love," says co-owner Jessica de Wet.

"Everything we carry is hand picked and carefully curated with love," says co-owner Jessica de Wet.

Originally from Ireland, Aimee Bird first opened her boutique in Chilliwack in 2004, before relocating to Fort Langley two years later, bringing the vision for a piece of Europe to the Valley. “If people come into our store, it’s an extension of our home,” Bird says. “I want others to experience what I experienced in the past in Europe, where there is a level of service you will never get shopping in big department stores.”

The mother-daughter duo manages the boutique themselves, together choosing brands that reflect their customers’ individualistic styles.

“We would be nothing without our customers and these relationships that have blossomed into friendships,” explains co-owner Jessica de Wet, whose retail experiences have taken her from South Africa to London and Australia.

I love to see a woman look and feel good. It’s our job to bring the best to them.

From the Downtown career woman to the equestrian ladies and soccer moms, the boutique offers fashion-forward styles of well-made, well-constructed pieces that stand the test of time, ensuring that the clothing fits into the Valley lifestyle.

“We make sure to buy items with an eye for longevity both in design and quality,” says de Wet on their process of choosing pieces that express individuality, rather than clothing that are silenced by name brands or labels.

Their efforts on seamlessly integrating a carefully curated collection reflect the true sensibility of the brand: effortless, trend setting and classic.

Let’s be honest — getting dressed in spring can be tricky considering the unpredictable weather, so we’ve asked Jessica and Aimee to create their perfect Valley outfits for this season!

Jessica: “I’m all about classic pieces, so pairing a plaid top with your denim staple embodies comfort for a weekend in this historic town. You’ll also still feel sexy at the same time!”
